Parks, Recreation, Open Space & Athletic Review Committee

The Parks, Recreation, Open Space and Athletic Review Board serves to advise and assist in the preparation of plans and programs for carrying out the functions of the Department of Parks and Recreation. Such Board shall also review such plans and proposals for the acquisition and development of parks and recreation lands and facilities as may from time to time be referred to it by the Town Board or the Planning Board, and make such recommendations to the Town Board and Planning Board in connection therewith as it deems appropriate.

The Parks, Recreation, Open Space and Athletic Review Board consists of 11 members appointed by the Town Board, of whom six members will be appointed for two years, and the remaining five members for three years. A two-year appointment is renewable no more than twice, a three-year term renewable only once, each such appointment for a maximum of six years.

There is no required state training for board members.
