Accreditation

Re-Accreditation Status

On March 5, 2009, the Webster Police Department received re-accreditation status from the New York State Law Enforcement Accreditation Council at a ceremony held at the State Office Building in Albany. The award recognized the Webster Police Department as meeting all established criteria set forth by the council and having continued to maintain the standards since initial accreditation in 1999.

Our police officers work hard to remain knowledgeable of the many different rules, regulations, laws, and best practices by which to perform their duty in a professional manner. They take pride in their appearance, their department, and the community they choose to serve.

Benefits of Accreditation

Accreditation provides a law enforcement agency with a proven management system of written directives, sound training, clearly defined lines of authority, and routine reports that support decision-making and resource allocation. This program provides objective evidence of our commitment to excellence in leadership, resource management, and service delivery.

Accreditation is a coveted award that symbolizes professionalism, excellence, and competence. It protects employees by ensuring an agency provides the appropriate work environment with policies, practices, facilities, and equipment to ensure employees' safety in addition to safeguarding employees' rights.
